and so this is how it finishes
much as it began
from a whisper to a scream
and back again
another orbit around the sun

boxes checked off
that had to be
others still waiting
for their brush with the ink
while more sadly had to be abandoned

as half who read this
won’t know what it’s about
and that’s OK
while a few following the story
all along know the score

they will be called disciples
separating mythology from fact
