Nobody uses the phone anymore
take note you historians
it’s all texting and social media
Emails

These days
the only long-distance
and some local calls
are telemarketers
scam artists
predators of every kind

Some of us don’t bother
to pick up anymore
let it go to voicemail
if it’s important
they'll leave a message
and even then some of them
still manage to get through

No
nobody uses the phone anymore
except some of us diehard Boomers
it’s just too inconvenient
though easy if you try

The Greatest Generation
is all but history now
they lived in technologically
simpler times and soon
this generation will follow them
where there are no scam artists
telemarketers
and there is no need for phones
