The Haunting of Tom Green

I’ve never been a big fan of Tom Green’s humor. As with most comics, there were some bright moments, though most of it I saw as practical jokes taken to an extreme, and I was never into practical jokes.

Much to my surprise, he was recently featured on an episode of The Haunting of series, on Travel and Escape (T&E). The theme of the show is psychic medium, Kim Russo, meets various celebrities, at the places where they were spooked, and guides them to the true meaning of their experiences.

Thinking the show was only filmed in the States, I was equally surprised to see that Green’s experience took place in my home town of Ottawa, at the Canadian Museum of Nature, which I’ve been to many times, over the course of my life. I knew from before, that Green originated here in Ottawa, and had his own TV show, where I first saw him, before moving to the States for (pardon the pun) greener pastures.

The Museum of Nature had long been rumored to be haunted, with a short list of suspects, based on a mixture of fact and speculation. At the time of his experience, Green had been a skeptic in the supernatural, and so, as a part of his journalism studies, and a lark, was given permission to stay overnight, to dispel the ghost stories. Despite being told by Security to remain in one location, he later slipped away to explore the whole building, where he got more than he bargained for.

There were some great shots of Ottawa’s downtown throughout the episode, and Kim Russo was in top form. If you’re into Tom Green and/or the paranormal, I highly recommend seeing it. Below is a clip from the show:
