Darkness descends
already
into the twilight zone
again
33 days till the next solstice
and day itself
at its shortest

Have always preferred
the night
more so in
November’s darkest light
when spirit is strongest
and the veil between
this mortal coil
what lies beyond
thins for a few precious hours

Tho’ was a time I hated November
or did it hate me?
either way over the years
learned to tolerate one another
having to share
sunlight and darkness
as in all seasons
to life’s ups and down
