Yes of course it’s serious
And embarrassing too
A first and hopefully the last
For Parliament
An entire country
The world

But come on really!?
Do we need to blow it out of all proportion?

The speaker has done the honorable thing
Stepped down
Apologies given all round
Let’s just be thankful
It wasn’t more serious
And make sure it never happens again

But now they’re going after the PMs head
And though no fan of Justin Trudeau
Enough is enough!

Should the PMO have known?
Most certainly
And that is how a nation learns and grows

Now let’s get back to focusing
On the real issues of the day
Inflation
Cost of living
Lack of affordable housing
Broken medical system

Amen!

Author's Note: I have decided not to post a link for this poem on Facebook, due to the title. Their Community Standards (CS) police are unpredictable, and I’ve already had my account frozen a couple of times for violating their CS. I’m very careful these days as to what I post there, and when I’ve enquired about what was so offensive, they never responded.
