What Else Can One Do?

Understandably upset
at the lump on her breast
and months to get a biopsy
when first discovered
casts a cloud
over any friendship
new or otherwise
So for the meanwhile
“As a friend, first and foremost,
if there’s anything I can do to help,
don’t hesitate to ask”
She smiles, nods
and says “Thanks”
we hug
October is not far off
and a date with the oncologist
