On the Subject of Memes

by Chris Sorrenti

I’m always tickled at how others covet their memes. As if they were the ones who created them, when in most cases, they’re not. Of-course then, they hold no copyright over said memes.

Still, human nature is fascinating. You can tell by how some are a little possessive when discussing your possibly sharing their meme, through what I like to call verbal body language. Also, in how they turn off their Share button, if not done accidentally.

Me? Well, although admittedly I get a little dopamine rush when I post a new meme, of significant quality, that I’m sure others haven’t seen, and will appreciate, I’m a little more open-minded. The way I see it, the Facebook universe sends me memes, and I post some of the better ones, sending them right back into that same universe, with my own Share button.

I like to imagine who all will see and be affected by them.
