every day
a little bit better
or so it seems
a journey of
one step forward
one step back
before returning
to the couch

for there are
busy days
and quiet days
exercising
of the wound
requires a period
of recovery
and ADHD fidgeting
must be ignored

realization
a blessing
the surgery took place
in summer
allowing the knee be
left bare
evening's sting
from the workout
soothed only
by moisturizer
and sleep

for fall is coming
longer pants
will be required
prayers the healing
continue unabated
tomorrow is another day
