We all know the world sucks
big time
especially in 2023
no need to go into the gory details
yet again

So why not create a place
artificial though it may be
where people can forget
their worries and problems
for a short while

With a laugh
a poem a song
shed a tear or two
gain knowledge
on many things
help them to fall asleep at night
or maybe not

And who knows?
when they go back to this battered
tattered old world
they just came from
be reminded
that there’s still a lot of good
