Tis a warm wind
that blow outside
deceptive in its history

No longer the stuff
of barbeques and
planting gardens

Best to don Covid’s
mask again at least
until that breeze subsides

Close the windows
lock the doors for we must
resist inhaling its calling card

This fiery invader who knows
no border no decency
in what innocents it next selects

For a Carbon monster is
released upon the land
change of climate accelerated

Not as the politicians planned for
a generation to pass
before those trees return

Till then choose wisely
what air we breathe depended
upon prevailing wind
