October in May

by Chris Sorrenti

Unexpected frost warning tonight:

Cover those Tulips
But then if you’ve lived long enough
In Canada
Learn not to be surprised by anything
Not unlike the blizzard of ‘77

Here today
Gone tomorrow
Such are the weather fortunes of the fifth month
Or as we Canadians like to kid one another
From time to time:

Hope you enjoyed summer while it lasted
