For some reason beyond me
and I’m sure a lot of other people
two years ago the local school board
invoked a new mandate

“No uniforms of any kind in the classroom’”

Who the hell thinks up these silly rules?
some weak-kneed lefty?
afraid of offending a small portion of the population
queasy at the sight of policeman or woman

Once more warped ideology rears its ugly head

Bringing to a head the whole issue
when the other day a girl wanted to bring
her uniformed mom to the classroom

Both the Mayor and Premiere are on board
reversing this puzzling decision
and sure enough today
the board relinquished

Meanwhile
cops are being ambushed in record numbers
fatalities across the country rising
mentally ill chickens come home to roost
from years of underfunding the medical system
while handguns continue to pour across the border
