No news is good news
Though rarely heard these days

The country is broken
Cries the right-wing MP
Accusing the opposition left
Of dictating orders to the federal broadcaster
A bare faced lie
If true
This right-winger would be screaming the loudest
And how many misguided
Will believe this fake news?

Best to view the shemozzle
At home and abroad
Only in glimpses
From the false safety of a rabbit hole
As it comes in doses of 24/7
Lest the suicide rate increases
Though it already has
Too many hungry angry voters
Powerless to stop the status quo
For the meantime

A Liberal judgement day awaits
No matter what wing one flies with
As always
Those responsible
And smart enough
Will leave politics
Before the writ is dropped
Retire to their mansions
In the happy hills of history

No news is good news
If you get a chance not to hear it

Today is not one of those days
