Welcome relief
from the freak thunder-ice storm of last week
some remote areas of the Pontiac
still without power

And yet the way to go supposedly
is electric
rewire everything!
cry the religiously fanatic environmentalists
with no mention of the overall cost
nor shortage of skilled labor
or that Ottawa’s high-priced electric train
shut down again for the umpteenth time
due to the aforementioned atmospheric disturbance

Maybe it’s better just to drink their Kool-Aid
even if it ends up killing us

But we have double digits in the forecast
for a solid week
and no precipitation
enough to melt away the last vestige of white

Now where did we put that air conditioner?
