Spring Rolls on Ecstasy

by Linda Fuller

The air a balm that soothes ruffled weather
spurs the blood to tumble
through electric veins
turns a not-so-young girl’s thoughts

My garden has sprung leeks
while crocuses pop open as if spring-loaded;
in another realm lambs flock
from casinos to gambol in meadows

I just love the sounds this poem makes. They both delight and ache.
