Just as there are atmospheric rivers
so too the islands
a pleasantly mild archipelago that
rises above unsettled waves
stretches geographically
across time

Their sandy beaches and palm trees
breaking through any and all dark clouds
above the sharp coral of uncertainty
welcoming those fortunate enough
who wash up upon their shores
the promise of warmer days ahead
