Welcome to February
Gift wrapped with plunging temperatures
Though more snow than cold this Winter
So far

On a bum leg
Difficult enough to get around
With uneven surfaces
Ice and slush
But throw in a polar vortex
And now you’ve got a challenge

And so it is
Taxi out
Taxi back
To stock up on supplies
Hunker down
For the next week if necessary
In our humble abode
Warts and all

With the worst yet to come
In a couple of days
It’s time for coffee, chocolate chip cookies
As next week they’re forecasting
That first tickle of Spring
