As of today
For some time now
It has been self-perpetuating
Yesterday and tomorrow
It seems
The numbers will keep on rising
No matter what

As long as there is an Internet
The children will find a home in hearts
Across the world
And beyond
The combined chapters
An animal born of inspiration
That can never be tamed

But are there real people
Behind those statistics?
Or simply bots?
Ockham’s razor would dictate
A combination of both

Time to retire then?
Not by a long shot
Unless only
To a safer line of work
