By The Day

by Chris Sorrenti

The right eye tires easily now
Odd, as the left does most of the work
Guess the right one’s just trying to keep up
Interesting, how the body compromises
From one side to another
In times of physical stress

Did an experiment earlier
Blocked the left with a hand
And the right was still the same
Maybe even worse
Colors, shapes and patterns
Growing blurrier by the day
