155 years since Confederation, when politicians, for better or worse, came together to form a country.
In all those years, that country has come of age in more ways than one. It’s still the greatest in the world, as far as this writer’s concerned, but plagued with too much polarization, vitriol, and to a certain degree even, genuine hatred, depending on any given issue.
Today on Facebook, I was reminded of a simpler time, when this country, was filled with so much pride and hope for the future, when we could do anything, if we put our minds to it. Canada, 1967, our Centennial year. The dream is still there, and possible.
