though didn’t realize the consequences
what started out as simple curiosity
soon blossoming into genuine attraction

But how could he reveal to her
his innermost feelings?
when she didn’t know he existed
for now
just another fish in the deep blue sea
and could never risk the chance
of being rejected

and so he planted his affection
where only she could find it
hoping that those seeds
might blossom into love

to such a risky endeavor?
how he felt the pain of his dilemma
was he doomed to go through life
never to know her?
in desperation
he could see no other avenue
