Deadlines have been met for various organizations, including the federal government, in which their employees must be vaccinated, or face suspension without pay, including those who have been working at home. All of this of course puts more stress and strain on various systems and inevitably, eventually everyone. It’s been said that COVID-19 is quickly becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated.

Watched 60 Minutes last night. One segment dealt with the bottleneck of goods at various ports across North America, but more specifically the port of Los Angeles and others in California. Scary. They showed oceans of containers waiting to be moved, while multitude cargo ships sit in the harbor waiting to unload. COVID-19, and now lack of workers is part of the problem. There’s a lot of finger pointing going on, and President Bidon has ordered a task group to study the problem. A lot of goods come from China and other parts of the far east now; why so many items are out of stock. As a result, Inflation has risen, and of course the Cost of Living, the experts saying that the resulting lack of spending by the population will eventually help to calm things down. Christmas will no doubt also be affected.

Had our first snowfall yesterday. Didn’t stay. The southern interior of British Columbia is a different story. Torrential, hundreds of milometers rainfall, have caused mass flooding and landslides. Towns cut off or evacuated. One of those storms of a century that are occurring more often now.

60 Minutes also did a segment on The Beatles. A new 3-part documentary has been put together/produced by Peter Jackson. It will be playing on the Disney Network, but I’m sure I’ll be able to catch it on one of my own cable channels. It centers on The Beatles’ Let It Be album, and it was nice to go back and relive a few of those magical moments in history. I had the original Let It Be movie (1970) on VHS, and although a good production for its time (pre-digital), I would describe the overall mood as somber, considering The Beatles marriage was slowly unravelling. Still as a Beatle fan, I enjoyed the musical aspect of the film. This latest production has a much clearer picture, and everyone (wives and children included) seem to be having fun.

By the way, my cable/Internet problem was finally solved a couple of weeks ago. Turned out it was something in the neighborhood cable box. This was about the third technician to visit us in over a year, and let’s just say that not all technicians are created equal.

One of the best compliments Jason has ever given me is his discovered love of Classic Rock. As I was watching The Beatles on 60 Minutes, he sat down and watched it with me. He’s into a lot of Hip Hop as well. Some of it I really like, and some I don’t. That and a host of other kinds of Progressive music. Over the years we’ve introduced one another to various bands and music, much of which I put up on my Facebook page, via link to You Tube.
