nearby birds
come out to sing
in-between showers
the sound of planes
more frequent of late
fill the air with
an almost forgotten song

nothing on the agenda
all the heavy lifting
done yesterday with the sun
tired eyes
enjoy the lull in the storm
a nice way to escape
what lies ahead

first cataract surgery
on the roster
