20 years ago...ten even
you wouldn’t have seen such a sight
around here

Neighbor Wendy
was the first I recall doing it
but she moved out a few years back

Since then
it’s turned into a fad
regular occurrence
and seems nobody but me really cares

At least someone has taken the trouble
to put the matching ones together
a first step in getting them back home?

A week ago
they were all over the 'hood
some from Metro
several from Walmart...a good mile away
even one from Shoppers Drug Mart
with the locking wheels
wonder how the culprit managed that

I can only imagine
those without a car
financially unable to spring for a taxi
or just unwilling?

“What’s the harm?
Everyone does it!”
free-wheelin' those groceries
all the way home

Heck! the way things are going
a few more of those babies
and I’ll be able to start my own supermarket!
