Health care workers
At their breaking point
For over a year
They’ve seen the suffering
The death
With no respite

Now talk of possible triage
With ICUs at capacity
Like a strange game of hopscotch
Patients shuffled
From town to town

Those of us on the outside
Feel the need to help
Whatever way we can
But for the most part helpless
Except to worry
And pray

While on the bright side
Ontario broke its
Vaccination record today
President Biden reassured
The Prime Minister in a phone call
The US will soon be sending Canada
More vaccines
