Well, it’s now official, the third wave is here. Thanks to the variants, the numbers are quickly going in the wrong direction, and although vaccinations are steadily increasing, they’re not keeping up with the spread. Even more frightening, is that the infected are becoming increasingly younger. Which makes me worry about Jason, although both of us go out only for groceries every couple of days.

I stopped by Shoppers Drug Mart yesterday, and asked if they would be one of the stores administering vaccines. The answer was no, and that I should consult the Shoppers.ca website for what stores would be.

I have an eye exam next week, and so because of the shutdown I have to call them today to see if we’re still on. Unfortunately, think I’m going to postpone it once again. Until the situation calms down, don’t feel safe travelling any further than my own back yard.

Also have a phone interview with my GP next week, which will often result in being referred to a specialist, so we’ll see how that goes, though again don’t think I’ll be going anywhere, or if they’re even seeing new patients at this stage of the game.

Ottawa’s chief medical officer, Dr. Vera Etches, along with other provincial doctors are calling for a complete stay at home lockdown, as with the first wave last spring.

Meanwhile, I stay busy with Facebook, photography and poetry. Writing lots these days, which helps keep me balanced. And although some of it, at least the COID stuff, is dark, it’s still a part of the story that has to be told.
