First Tickle of Spring by Chris Sorrenti
That time of year
When there’s a mixture of everything
10cm of wet snow this morning
Rain this afternoon
Meaning lots of slush ahead
Above zero for the next few days
A mountain of the white stuff
Came crashing off the roof yesterday
On to the barbecue below
Obviously not pushed out far enough
A different kind of Groundhog Day
As another trip to Walmart
Added to the forecast
Not the tickle we were expecting
Or looking for
