Closure

by Richard Vince

Is it worth opening a door
Just to close it?

If I ask the question,
Will it turn out that
I was wrong all along?

Perhaps some things are
Better left unknown;
Perhaps some words are
Better left unspoken.

Too many years I spent
Writing mysteries I was
Unable to solve, walking
Into mazes I never
Found a way out of.

This is not their
Responsibility: it would
Be unforgivably selfish
To hurt them just so
I know, so I must remain
In blissless ignorance.

You echoed my feelings. NEVER ask a question if you can not deal with the answer- GREAT write!!

Excellent! I like this a lot Richard. Love the irony of the title to set the tone for what follows.
