Dancing Queen

by Chris Sorrenti

There are other songs of course
That still remind me of you

Eating my breakfast toast and Sugar Crisp
To CFRA’s General Grant sounding off
Every half hour
To a string of Abba tunes
One in particular

But what really comes to mind
Was that time
I walked into the main lobby
Of Gloucester High School
And saw you sitting there
In a circle of friends
Bopping to Elton John’s
Bennie and the Jets
