November 1st Sunrise by Chris Sorrenti
Some of my best photos are completely unplanned.
A good example took place recently on the morning of Sunday, November 1st,
at around 7am, the day we set the clocks back to Daylight Savings Time.
I had gotten up for some reason, and as I walked past my bedroom window,
something caught my peripheral vision. Although one part of me just wanted to
get back into bed, warm and cozy under the blankets, my photographer side
quickly came to life, and it wasn’t long I had the window full open (it was cold),
with my Canon Rebel in hand.
Not the first time I had seen it, though on previous occasions I had overridden
my creative side, only to regret it later, for a sky like this lasts only a few precious
minutes. I had managed to catch it at that moment where the outside is balanced
precisely between night and day…darkness and light, with bare trees and just the
right amount of clouds to complete the painting, so to speak.
