Miss my parents dearly
though glad they didn’t live
to see today

My sincere condolences
to those whose folks
had to endure
this ultimate insult
humiliation

To go through the
abuses of for profit
senior warehousing
no privacy or protection
with four to a room
staff shortages
separation/isolation
from loved ones
amid the horror
of Novo Corona

As for myself eventually
crossing that
nursing home line
pandemic or not
a conversation
for another day
suffice to say
it will include a detour
of my own free will...

Stepping out
into the path
of a transport truck
