My apology to those
I hurt or offended along the way
I was a work in progress
as were you

What’s important is that
we learned and grew
from the experience and
thus grown deeper into ourselves

And now as we play out
the final chapters of our lives
with each new ache and blemish
on our physical bodies

As the divine artist who created us
intended it to be
our spiritual selves
become more pure
