The Sunset

by Thomas K. Hunt

The sun just set on another gorgeous river day
casting it’s colors across french creek bay
Golden yellows and amber reds
A soft summer breeze surrounds your head

The hum of a Lyman heading home
You sit in your contentment and you never sit alone
Faces in a circle glowing from the fires light
Together again on another St. Lawrence night

Sharing laughter and creating the best of times
Joined together in loving hearts and minds
You could not ask for a better place
You see it in the eyes on every smiling face

Home is where your heart is and mine is on the river tonight
There with my family and friends on another St. Lawrence night
Once again my alarm woke me in the morning light
I’m where I am for another southern night.

The sunsets at the end of a St Lawrence day
Warm summer colors stretch out across the bay
God given beauty captured in a frame in time
Rays of sunshine shining their last few shines

Well, I'd like to pull up my lawn chair and join you! There's something special about sunsets and you have drawn me into this one.
