Follow Me

by Diane Paley Davis

I was at a crossroads in my life
And Jesus met me there
He said, “Follow Me”
I answered, “But, Lord, I am a sinner
And not worthy to go with You”
He said, “Follow Me”

“Oh, Lord,” I pleaded
“I cannot follow You now
I have too much work to do
And a family to care for, too
I’m sure You will understand”
And Jesus replied, “Follow Me”

Years went by and my problems got worse
As I tried to fix things on my own
And all the while, Jesus was there
Watching me, waiting for me
Never giving up on me
Then again the Lord said, “Follow Me”

“Yes, Lord,” I said, “I will follow You”
And I gave my heart to Him
He took me by the hand to lead me down this path
While I sometimes stumble along the way
I know the Lord is always with me
And oh! What a journey it has been!

Quite lyrical - could be a song. Quentin would have loved this. Thanks!
