Things are starting to open up out there
Various kinds of businesses
Some curbside pickup only
Walked into Walmart the other day
No lineup no problem
A new barbeque cover, long johns and socks
Found Jason’s brand of coffee
Nescafe Rich in the tall cans
Three $ cheaper than our local Metro
Which hasn’t had any in weeks
They were right out of chocolate cake mix too
About a month ago
Here I am rambling on about my tiny problems
When so many are still dying all around
Retirement and nursing homes have been especially hard hit
While ironically the ERs are almost empty
People putting everything off for fear of getting the virus
Eco-nut Elizabeth May
And the Bloc-head from Quebec (can’t remember his name)
Say that oil is dead
Such hypocrisy though I still think
Canada is the greatest country in the world
Can’t help but wonder
Where all the money’s coming from
For these pandemic assistance programs
Heard somewhere money is no longer based on gold
Governments are just printing out cash
As fast as they please
Only when needed of course
A lot of people are nervous about the so called second wave
Now that the curve has begun to flatten
That would be the ultimate nightmare
Everything having to close up again
May has been mostly sunny but on the cool side so far
Goes well with the state of the world
None the less
We’re getting a new tank of gas for the BBQ
On the weekend
For now
Chris (and Jason) over and out
Meanwhile
Remember
To keep your distance
Wash hands frequently
Stay safe
And Happy Mothers Day!
