Like everyone else, still trying to wrap my head around what’s been going on…this newest normal.
Borders closed to all but returning Canadians abroad…and Americans. Get home while you still can! Two-week self-quarantine upon arrival, infected or not.
Schools, places of worship, restaurants and bars…casinos, all shut down. “Stay and work from home, unless absolutely necessary,” advises Big Brother in parliamentary colours. Avoided riding the LRT all winter, and now, all the more reason to avoid its restless hordes, though I imagine thinned out of late.
TV keeps repeating, don’t go out, except to buy groceries or pharmacy. Must today, just about out of everything. Metro’s supposed to get a new shipment of toilet paper in the afternoon.
Phoned to postpone a dentist appointment, and cancel some elective day surgery at the old Civic campus. Both offices had recorded messages, out of business at least till the end of the month.
later
Things are calming down a bit out there. I even managed to pick up a large package of toilet paper at Metro this afternoon, in addition to two boxes of Kleenex and paper towels…just in case. Stores have caught on, limiting customers to only two packages of whatever.
On the way home, at 2:30pm, the taxi driver told me I was his first call since he logged in at 9 this morning.
Oh...and Happy St. Paddy’s everyone!
