Cat's Meow

by Chris Sorrenti

When the cats come home to roost
as three of them have
he shall rise and conquer
but never divide

The feline inside
shaken off an adolescent allergy
of human proportions
cat platonics
purr for outside contact
resurrection

His own cat’s eyes hardwired
to slay dragons in a single glance
and still can on good days
yes
“Who is like the beast?
Who can make war against him?”

Something he did
in one of his past lives
or maybe only yesterday?
his whole life at times
appearing written
into a single growing whisker
off the top of his head

As you see
with your own cat’s eyes, readers
the only certainty
despite its overwhelming curiosity
a cat sometimes
doesn't really knows

Who knows what consumes a Kitt Katt when snapped?
