Under a Gibbous Moon by Chris Sorrenti
Under a gibbous moon
A February snow falls heavy
Reminding me of what’s happening all around
Under a gibbous moon
The cold has returned
In more ways than one
Under a gibbous moon
I feel fear, anger and frustration
As this country slowly, painfully
Tears itself apart
In its various and complex polarizations
Where no side gives an inch now
Under a gibbous moon
I am still hopeful
Being Canadians, we always find a way
Whether in compromise or backlash
That day will surely come
Under a gibbous moon
That soon turns full
