Invasion by Chris Sorrenti
One of the scariest experiences I ever had was back in 2010.
Although I was in a relationship, my girlfriend at the time, who was a bit of a gypsy, decided to take a job at a hostel in Cape Breton for the summer, to make a little extra money for us for the Fall.
So, I was essentially living alone.
One night in July, I had gone to bed, and was at that point just before falling asleep, when suddenly I felt something that I had never experienced before. Without warning, energy ran throughout my entire body, as if getting an accidental electrical shock. Taken completely by surprise, at first, I had no idea what was happening to me, then my gut instinct kicked in, telling me that a foreign entity was trying to enter...take over my body.
Fully awake now, I was on my back, completely paralyzed, unable to sit up, as I fought desperately with every ounce of strength to break free.
With me refusing to give in, after a minute or so, whatever it was suddenly stopped, or better gave up, and I was finally able to sit up, gasping for air, exhausted from the battle, still trying to make sense of the situation.
Too afraid to fall back asleep, fatigue and stress eventually got the better of me, as I drifted off to an uncertain tomorrow.
