Needs

by Richard Vince

Some days, I need windows:
Access for my eyes to the sky,
Upwards at about thirty degrees
From horizontal, as I always
Did in my teens.

Some days, I need people:
An indoor landscape of humanity
To survey like a hidden hunter,
In search of hearts to target
My willing heart and imagination.

Some days, I need time:
A string of moments that are
All my own, free from
Others and the expectations
They unwittingly bring.

Some days, I need space:
The feeling of blissful smallness
That comes from an open
Landscape and distant horizon,
Room to breathe at last.

Really like the use of repetition, and compartmentalization of your needs here, Richard. A poem I'm sure we all can relate to in our own way.
