Venus

by Richard Vince

Truly, I have never known
A peace like this: white flowers
Blooming in a new world
Filled with love and light.

Dawn breaks upon a new day,
A new life, grown from night,
Grown from lifelessness.

From ends that are beginnings
In disguise grow the strongest
Stories, the most compelling
Narratives, character growth
In the most unexpected directions.

With peace comes, at last, love:
Real love, that brings comfort,
Joy, fulfilment; all the
Things that whatever I felt
Before failed to bring.

She is the bringer of peace,
The goddess of love, and I will
Worship at her altar for
The rest of my days.

Well, a lovely expression of discovery and what love brings into our lives.
