there are a thousand avenues now
that lead to his single-mindedness
acrylic complexities that easily wash off
exposure delivered with a capital E
as in the beginning when the road
held a clear and steady path
no riddles as to who he had to be

the world confused enough on its own
he knows better than to waste others’ time
and having done it for so long
that progressive dance of hit or miss
another part of him feels the ache
of waning passion and wonders
if so much exposure is still a good thing
