And we all have been someplace
that has etched our lives with the traits of who we are
and we are all struggling to get to another place
that holds all the meaning of being alive

Few do make the journey all way
for they constantly redefine the point they are at
and may hold that journeys end in abeyance
while they study the place right now in greater detail

Often you do not know until it has happened
that you have either found a place to be
or have moved on without hope of recall

Ha! How I relate to that last stanza! It is the genius of our species to be able to constantly redefine the place we are at. I applaud your clever language that helps me avoid self pity. Still holding that journeys end in abeyance. Thanks for this Steven.
