redefine: buildings

by Aaron Michael

given the choice
fantasy wins any day

but i exist in anticipation
of the inevitable flex of reality
under my feet

and the rolling quake that follows
cracking the beauty i created

and waiting for the tectonic shift
to cease

before I start construction
again and again.
