A Girl Like That

by Chris Sorrenti

Oh I could give up
My wild oats
Just to have a girl like that
She may not be the prettiest
Or wittiest one around
But what I wouldn’t do
For a little bit of her sunshine

As I fool myself into thinking
I’m gonna stay a little longer
In a contradictory state of celibacy
No I don’t need a woman
To be a mother to me
Just that special sort
Of constant companion

Oh I could give in
To a toothy grin
If I had a girl like that
To hold her in my arms
Cheek to cheek
All my losin'
Would become winnin'

As I think I’m gonna stay
A little while longer
In a contradictory state of celibacy
But first I’ll have to wander
Just a little bit closer
So I can admire her
From a safer distance
