Months of hearing little to nothing
Then in one day everything
In Ontario
The lottery has been won by several
Though a few
Yet to open their doors
Facing possible fines
Of $1,000/day

Some say it’s a racket
Albeit legal
As in any industry
There are big time conglomerates
Already cornering the market
And dare it be said
Mom and pop operations too

The experiment that is Marijuanada
May just yet have a future after all
When on October 17
Edibles will finally be available

Maybe then
Some of us old legalization soldiers
Can give our lungs
A well-deserved break
