At A Crossroads by Chris Sorrenti
why do you grieve so, fair maiden?
upon this beautiful yet less traveled path
and why should I feel so enamored to you
not knowing your name?
my name, kind sir is Poetry
and why should you fuss over one you don’t know?
abandoned by so many in the rush to progress
good question, my lady
life seldom offers us clear explanations
though intuition telling me I know you better than you think
maybe you wait only for the right suitor to come your way
to take you into new directions
no matter how fierce Life’s storms may rage
and do you know such a suitor?
perhaps, my lady, perhaps
here, take my hand
and together let us see what lies ahead
