Posted by Glenn Currier on 03/16/19 at 03:30 PM I once heard: "Be careful what you ask for." Your poem tells me to be careful of what your desire as well. At first I was taken with the physical image in my mind of the fist in the face and I winced internally. But then the deeper and broader implications and meaning of your poem began to emerge. I so often yearn for a change, for something new to arise in my life that will alter my consciousness or my careless drift, but a yearning can be dangerous if its target is not anchored in good intention. Thanks so Anita. |
