Revolt of the Turntables by Chris Sorrenti
Defend the balance said the man with the records
The revolt of the turntables is by now too far gone
There are men women and children quite helpless out there
Not knowing when to come not knowing where to go
Where are the knights in their shining armor?
The king is demanding to see them assembled
For we are all just peasants put against the wall
The devilish work of the turntables
Get off your high horses and ride the universe
Said the cosmic roadie in his blue jean uniform
You’re all just rabbits put on the run
You’ll never know whether to go or to come
When the turntables bring you down
Pick up an instrument and learn how to play
Said the jester as he tickled the queen
For moving too slow in issuing the orders of the day
All she could do in kneel down and pray
As the turntables knocked down the drawbridge
Sing to us now demanded the king bravely
As the turntables broke into the throne room
We’ve had it to hear with your tyrannical directives
Said their leader as he adjusted his pitch control
We need new recruits for our rock n’ roll war
Until we get them you won’t hear a thing
And so from that day forward
The king and queen and all the subjects of the land
Not only listened but learned how to play
The wow and flutter of the world returning to normal
As the turntables turned once again
