at first
the thought of it
didn’t faze me

welcome relief from
months of blurred vision
and then the reality set in

up till now getting away with
readers in stages of
gradual magnification
1.50 > 1.75 > 2.00

but now the day’s come
bifocals or progressives
a facial image
changed for good

and if I want to see
this same person again
at some point in the future
without them
will I even recognize him
despite the blur?
